California's Disneyland Resort

Disneyland ResortHave you ever been to California's Disneyland Resort? It is truly one of my favorite places to visit. My family and I have been there a few times now and we can not wait to go back. The resort has an intimate feel to it that is somewhat lacking in the larger Disney theme parks. There are also tons of hidden treasures and delightful features scattered throughout, if you only know where to look. From the moment you arrive until the time you leave, you are overcome by the sights and sounds of all things Disney in the park that started it all. It's a Disney fan's dream come true!

DisneylandMany people often compare Disneyland to the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and find it lacking. But, in my opinion, the two can not really be compared. Both destinations have features that make them unique and set each apart from other Disney resorts. Yes, Disney World is considerably larger than Disneyland, has two additional theme parks, two water parks, and sports a much wider variety of dining options and on-site accommodations, but does that mean that the Disneyland Resort isn't worth a visit? No way! On the contrary, because of Disneyland's smaller size and scope, you can see much more of the resort during a week's vacation there than you would ever be able to see of WDW. Also, if you have little ones, I think that a trip to Disneyland is a great way to introduce them to some of what the Disney parks have to offer. The size of Disney World and variety of attractions can be overwhelming, even for seasoned adults.

Don't get me wrong now, I think Walt Disney World is an awesome place to visit. It's a Disney theme park, so it automatically gets my vote. I also realize that it's a lot more popular, largely because of the variety that it offers. There's nothing wrong with that either. It's just that I would like to see Disneyland Resort get more of a fair shake because it really is deserving. So, the next time you are planning to visit a Disney theme park, why not consider a trip to California's Disneyland Resort? Sure, it's smaller and may not be quite as convenient, but it has a lot to offer its guests and is a must-see for any true Disney fan.

  1. I guess I prefer "World" but have very fond memories of my one visit to DisneyLand!
